Privacy policy

The short version

The free analyzer parses your RVTools file in your browser. The file is never transmitted to us, never written to a server, and never stored. We collect no analytics, set no advertising cookies, and run no third-party scripts on this site. If you give us your email address, we use it for the one thing you asked for.

The RVTools file you upload

When you use the free analyzer, the spreadsheet is read by JavaScript running in your own browser tab, using your machine’s memory and CPU. No part of it is sent over the network. You can confirm this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, watch the network tab while the file is processed, or disconnect from the internet entirely once the page has loaded — the analysis still completes.

Because the file never reaches us, we cannot read it, cannot retain it, cannot be compelled to hand it over, and cannot lose it in a breach. This is a deliberate architectural choice rather than a policy commitment, which is why it appears first.

Reports you generate are produced in the browser and saved by you. Nothing is kept once you close the tab.

Paid tiers

There are none. Nothing on this site can be subscribed to or paid for, so there is no account, no billing record and no stored inventory — the section that used to sit here described data handling for a product that does not exist.

Paid tiers are planned, and the ones involving stored uploads or a vCenter connection would mean us holding data for the first time. If that ships, this policy will be updated before it does, not after, and the commitments we would expect to keep are: your data held only while a subscription is active and deleted on request or within 30 days of cancellation; a full export available at any time; and no selling, sharing, licensing, aggregating or training on customer inventory, ever. See what it costs for where that stands.

Your email address

We do not collect it. There is no signup, no newsletter and no form anywhere on this site that asks for it. If you write to hello@polyvirt.com we will have your address because you sent us mail, and we will use it to reply and nothing else.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies. There is no analytics script, no tag manager, no session recording, no advertising pixel, no chat widget and no embedded third-party content. That is why you have not been asked to accept anything.

If we later add analytics, it will be a privacy-respecting, cookie-free option that collects no personal data, and this page will say so before it goes live.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard web server logs — IP address, timestamp, requested path and user agent — for the pages you request. These are used for security and for diagnosing outages, are retained for a short period, and are not combined with anything else or used to build a profile.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email hello@polyvirt.com and we will act on it within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU, this covers your rights under UK GDPR and GDPR respectively; we do not require you to cite them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your data, we will update the date at the top and, where we hold your email address, tell you directly.
