Does my inventory ever leave my device?
No. Your RVTools workbook is parsed and assessed in your browser. It is never uploaded or stored on a server. After loading the page, you can disconnect from the internet and run an assessment.
What do I need to get started?
An RVTools Excel export from your VMware environment. Choose the .xlsx file in the analyzer, or try the synthetic sample estate to explore the report first. No account or installation is required.
Which platforms can I evaluate?
The checks include guidance relevant to Proxmox VE, Nutanix AHV, and Microsoft Hyper-V. The assessment identifies configuration risks without committing you to a destination; it does not certify target compatibility.
What are the limits of an RVTools assessment?
An export is a point-in-time configuration snapshot, without performance history or application dependencies. 43 of the 48 checks run against a complete RVTools 4.x export. Unavailable checks are listed with their reasons. Results support engineering review; they are not a migration clearance.
Is the full assessment really free?
Yes. All available checks, the migration wave plan, and CSV and JSON exports are free, including for commercial use. There are no account requirements or limits on assessment runs. Paid capabilities are planned but are not available yet.
